Reanimation in the Winds

In this post I discuss the prophetic mystery of the Lord's wind and the ways that He is reanimating the weary.

The Winds Are Shifting

Lately, across North America, there have been some unusual, tumultuous winds sweeping through. And usually, when the weather starts acting out of the ordinary, I lean into the Holy Spirit to discern if the Lord is saying something through it.

As these winds have been blowing, I’ve been sensing a big shift in the spirit. One morning on my way to work, I noticed the large American flag I always pass was blowing in the opposite direction from how it normally does around that time. The phrase “The winds are changing” kept ringing in my spirit.

Right now, I believe the wind of the Lord is blowing mightily. His Ruach—His wind, His breath—is being released from heaven. That word Ruach carries a dual meaning: it refers to wind on the earth, but it also speaks of God’s Spirit moving and bringing life. It means to re-animate, to quicken, and to breathe His Word into being—manifesting through us.

Fresh Wind for the Weary

Lately, the enemy has really been coming after the people of God with one major weapon: weariness. And he’s doing it in a season of acceleration and and harvest.

If you’ve been standing on God’s promises and have found yourself just feeling tired, drained, or discouraged—know this: the Lord is sending a fresh wind to reanimate you.

He’s reviving the ones who’ve felt like they’ve fallen by the wayside. He’s refreshing those who’ve felt overlooked or worn out from doing good. If that’s you, I encourage you to pause for a moment and simply say:

“Lord, I receive your refreshing released over my life. I ask you now to reanimate any part of me that has become weary.”

"But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint." Isaiah 40:31 (NLT)

Dry Bones

During a recent church prayer meeting, I couldn’t shake this recurring thought about these wild, unexplainable winds. As I kept pressing into prayer, the Holy Spirit began to show me something deeper—He’s bringing dead things back to life.

This could look like: projects you left unfinished, desires God gave you that you’ve been praying about, and dormant areas in your life that need a fresh touch

Just like Ezekiel did, we can use the Word of God to prophesy over the “dry bones” in our lives. Inside His Word is His breath—His very life. And when we speak with authority as His ambassadors, His Spirit moves through us and releases that life.

“Prophesy to these bones and say to them, ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life." Ezekiel 37:4-6 (NIV)

You can start by picking an area in your life that’s been challenging and start speaking the opposite of what you’ve been experiencing. As you stand in faith, your words will release God’s quickening, His animation, and His power.

Howling in the Wind

One night at dinner, during one of these windy days, I thought I heard music in the distance. But as I listened closely, the sounds became hard to discern. No one else seemed to hear it, so I knew I was hearing something in the spirit.

When I asked the Holy Spirit about it, He revealed there were voices hidden in the howling wind—taunting, anguished, and distressed. A dissonant atmosphere filled the air. I understood immediately: this was the enemy’s counterfeit to the fresh wind of life and revival. His wind brings destruction and chaos.

If you’ve heard something similar or felt unsettled by the wind, your discernment was likely spot-on.

Whenever the Lord is moving powerfully, the Holy Spirit helps us discern and guard those movements. I’m so thankful that Jesus gave us authority to rebuke the enemy when needed.

If you’ve been sensing foreboding or spiritual chaos, I encourage you—pray against it. Pray against destruction, confusion, and torment seeking to disrupt your peace.

Ask for a Fresh Boost

After a few weeks of feeling like I was constantly getting knocked down and then getting back up again, the Lord started calling me to reconnect with Him in a deeper way.

He asked me to start laying aside my frustrations, recent disappointments, and all the heaviness I’d been carrying—and just withdraw into Him. I felt led to ask for fresh insight, fresh revelation, and a clearer understanding of where He was leading me.

But to receive something new, I had to be willing to let go of some of the old—old strategies, old expectations, even old instructions from a past season.

"Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit." Psalm 51:12 (ESV)

If you’re in that same place, you can start with a simple, honest prayer like:

“I lay down all former structures and ask you to breathe on me afresh. Show me the new pathway or direction you want me to go in. I’m willing to surrender my ways to follow yours.”

And listen—He sees how fast-paced life can be. But He honors the moments we set aside just to be with Him.

So let’s take time to receive His fresh wind—and be anointed afresh, together.
