Divine Blueprints

In this season, many are building and implementing plans that have been birthed from blueprints, visions, and instructions supernaturally embedded by the Lord.

On a prayer call discussing logistics for an upcoming event, I felt the power of God swirling around me. His presence moved with purpose, and I could feel the electric charge in the winds of His spirit. Entering a visionary state, I saw an angel descend into my office space and touch my forehead. When his finger made contact, a bright light entered my mind.

Shortly after, a surge of energy illuminated my thoughts. Ideas, plans, and strategies for moving forward began to unfold in my thinking. I asked the Holy Spirit what had just occurred, and He let me know that an angel delivered blueprints for me to build upon for the season ahead.

The next day, I began drafting to-do lists, goals, and projected outcomes for my next season. Get ready, because this is your season to move with supernatural quickness to bring forth His divine blueprints!

Building and Fighting

In this building season, the Lord has drawn my attention to the story of Nehemiah and the challenges of exacting a blueprint amidst resistance. Just like Nehemiah, we are called to build with great focus and intentionality, requiring discernment.

In Nehemiah 4, we see the resistance faced by the Jewish community. Tensions rose, driving them to take further action to preserve their lives while fulfilling God's mandate.

“Now it happened, when Sanballat, Tobiah, the Arabs, the Ammonites, and the Ashdodites heard that the walls of Jerusalem were being restored and the gaps were beginning to be closed, that they became very angry, and all of them conspired together to come and attack Jerusalem and create confusion.” Nehemiah 4:7-8 (NKJV)

As I studied this chapter, I began to see beyond the historical accounts of the story. Sanballat and his cohorts were influenced by territorial spirits, their objective was to move in intimidation, fear, and torment.

As we build, the enemy seeks to tear it down by launching attacks that seek to throw us off of our task. For me, these attacks can manifest as thoughts of inadequacy, despondent feelings, lack of energy, or an inability to focus. I’ve also experienced a wave of overwhelm and sudden uprisings of people speaking against me who have been demonically inspired.

If you’ve experienced this, it’s a sign you’re building something threatening to the kingdom of darkness. Thankfully, Jesus has already provided a remedy: to move primarily proactively and not just reactively.

The Right Weapon

Nehemiah 4:16 offers keys to specific types of spiritual warfare and taking a proactive stance against enemy attacks.

“And it happened, when our enemies heard that it was known to us, and that God had brought their plot to nothing, that all of us returned to the wall, everyone to his work. So it was, from that time on, that half of my servants worked at construction, while the other half held the spears, the shields, the bows, and wore armor; and the leaders were behind all the house of Judah.” Nehemiah 4:15-16 (NKJV)

God wants us to keep building while being on guard against enemy attacks by wearing our spiritual armor and taking up a spear, shield, and bow when necessary.

The Sword, Spear, Shield, and Bow

Nehemiah and the community needed to be versed in all matters of warfare to fulfill their plans. Similarly, we must be prepared to engage in spiritual warfare like soldiers in a heavenly army, using the tactics of Nehemiah to our advantage.

The Sword

“Every one of the builders had his sword girded at his side as he built. And the one who sounded the trumpet was beside me.” Nehemiah 4:18 (NKJV)

The sword, our primary weapon, is the word of God (Ephesians 6:17, Hebrews 4:12). However, in the natural realm, a sword is a weapon that is primarily reactive. This means that whomever is welding it will use it in a time of immediate danger. Alongside fellow believers, we must be ready to defend ourselves with the word of God, but we must also take up a kingdom mindset and pray for fellow builders in our church communities and circles.

The Spear

“And the LORD said unto Joshua, Stretch out the spear that is in thy hand toward Ai; for I will give it into thine hand. And Joshua stretched out the spear that he had in his hand toward the city.” Joshua 8:18 (NKJV)

A spear is used when a threat is seen from afar. I believe that this can represent a proactive method of warfare that prevents attacks from reaching their targets. The Holy Spirit can give us discernment to foresee attacks on our lives and community, allowing us to pray against them ahead of time.

The Shield

“Above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.” Ephesians 6:16 (NKJV)

The shield is a protective weapon that helps a warrior to quench unexpected attacks. Usually, a shield catches arrows launched from an unknown origin. Paul makes it clear that our faith is what initiates this protective covering.

In all of our efforts, we have to trust that God is the one that is covering us with His wings, and that it is only through Him that we are victorious against the wiles of the enemy.

The Bow

“For they intended evil against You; They devised a plot which they are not able to perform. Therefore, You will make them turn their back; You will make ready Your arrows on Your string toward their faces.” Psalm 21:11-12 (NKJV)

A bow and arrow, used to hit specific targets. Therefore, a bow and arrow represent focused, targeted prayers against enemy attacks. that is launched in the moment or ahead of time to stand against a pointed attack of the enemy. In a place of prayer, the Lord can reveal to us a specific origin, plot, or plan. He will prepare the arrow to be launched to avoid any evil plans to come forth.

I would encourage you in this season to ask the Lord for prayer points that thwart the plans of the enemy.

Moving Forward

I am confident that the Lord will reveal new strategies and give you the strength to take up the weapons of warfare and fight as you build for His kingdom!

My Prayer for You

I pray that everyone reading this post will be anointed afresh to receive blueprints from the Lord and strategies to withstand the demands of spiritual warfare. May He replenish you in areas where you need it, releasing His soothing waters of healing and renewal to wipe away the ill effects of war. May He release His wisdom and understanding to guide you in this season of building, so you can bring forth His plans and purposes with a focused mind and sound thoughts.

Keep standing strong and building!
