Usually, when I get to the month of March, I’m excited because this month carries a special anointing for miracles. On God’s calendar, this is the Hebrew month of Adar/Nissan, which is all about restoration, suddenlies, and accelerated harvests. In this post, I will share prophetic insight on how to grab hold of the anointings of this month and apply them to your own life.
God’s Calendar
God created each month with purpose and intention. You may be wondering why I follow this calendar.
Well, it’s true that the Hebraic calendar was observed during biblical times and is still followed in modern Jewish culture. But it’s not just a way to mark time—it carries prophetic significance. Each month contains a special anointing or season that we can tap into. Even the names of these months speak to their meaning and significance.
The month of Adar, and later in March, Nissan, carries themes of deliverance, joy, abundance, rapid harvest, and elevation. The key to receiving this month’s anointing is to stand in faith and decree the promises of the Lord by His Word.
Speak to the Dry Places
As I was praying, I saw an image of a barren patch of land, surrounded by thriving, flourishing greenery. Then, a prophetic decree rose in my spirit:
"I speak to the dry places and command them to be full of rain and abundance."
In that moment, I understood that the barren place represented prayers that seemed unanswered—areas of our lives full of challenges, blockages, or difficulties.
The Lord is saying to us what Elijah said to Ahab:
"Go up, eat and drink, for there is the sound of the abundance of rain." (1 Kings 18:41)
Maybe you've been believing for something, but it hasn't come right away. Or perhaps you have a need before the Lord that is yet to be fulfilled. There is a special anointing this month to decree by faith that abundance will overflow and fill up the dry places. Likewise, the Lord is accelerating the fruit of the words we speak in alignment with His Word and truth.
I've personally experienced this in the past week. Things I thought were delayed came sooner than expected. The Spirit kept impressing upon me the importance of unwavering determination in my declarations. Imagine your decrees like a hammer striking a hard surface—one jab at a time until the breakthrough comes. (Jeremiah 23:29)
Think of how Elijah felt praying for rain. He told his servant to go back seven times in anticipation of the Lord’s promise. Can you imagine making such a bold decree and having to fight against doubt?
Yet, instead of giving up, he anticipated the rain—even before it appeared in the natural.
When we take a similar stance, remaining prayerful yet persistent, we position ourselves to see what we have decreed come to pass.
The same can happen for you! I personally "get into the future" and praise God as if He has already done it. It’s just like rehearsing a victory with a friend.
Proactively Stopping the Devourers
As I continued to pray, the Lord revealed a vision of flourishing vegetation growing in a field. Then, I saw devourers—different types of insects—approaching a harvest of mature crops. As I watched this unfold, I prayed against the attacks of the enemy, declaring that the harvest would not be devoured. At the same time, the Holy Spirit led me to speak over the seeds in the ground, ensuring they would mature and come forth in their appointed times.
Later, when I asked for more understanding, the Lord showed me that these devourers represent things like discouragement, heaviness, fear, and hope deferred.
During this time of abundance and harvest, we must stand firm in faith, declaring and believing what God has spoken. When we do this, we begin to live from a position of victory, and that victory starts to manifest in our lives.
Tips for Praying During the Month of March
Fix your eyes on calling things as though they were. Whatever you are believing for, gather scriptures, proclaim them, and praise God in advance. It may feel silly at first, but I’ve seen time and time again that what I declared in faith came to pass.
Rehearse your victory. I phrase my prayers like this:
“Thank You, God, for what You have done. No one else could have done it but You.”
“I’m going to be jumping for joy and telling everyone what You did!”
Our thanksgiving attracts His favor.
Boldly approach the King. This month carries a special anointing for victory and deliverance. In biblical times, this was the month when Esther took a bold stand for the Jewish people in Persia. Similarly, we can approach the King with confidence and ask for deliverance in any area where we need breakthrough.
Let’s step into a position of victory and celebrate His harvests together!
